No, Kitty doesn't want to do any of that. Kitty wants ... Play! Sing! Run! Will Kitty settle down in time to hear her favorite story? And can she stay awake for the ending?

The illustrations in this book are very detailed. The drawings on each page go perfectly with whats being represented. The artwork was very detailed.

I chose reading as my content and 1st-2nd as my grades. I would incorporate this book by giving the children activity sheets.

When You Adopt A Pugicorn

When You Adopt A Pugicorn

Written by Matilda Rose; Illustrated by Tim Budgen

Hodder Children's Books ∙ Hachette Book Group, 2019

Fantasy

Every year, princes and processes arrive at Mrs.Pa's Haven for Magical Pets to pick the perfect pet. Princess Ava has her heart set on a unicorn, but when she arrives late, there are none left...only a Pugicorn! He's short. He's hairy. He can't gallop Gracefully or leap over rainbows-- instead, he likes digging holes and chasing cats. He's definitely NOT what Princess Ava had in mind for a pet. Can a princess and Pugicorn ever become best friends? This fun-filled story reminds readers to accept others....just the way they are!

The illustrations in this book were created digitally. I love that the cover of the book has texture to it! Every page is jammed-packed with color. The detail on every page is fantastic.

I chose art as my content and  1st-3rd as my grades. I would incorporate this book by asking the children if they thought there was a lesson behind the story. Explain the lesson behind the story to them, then proceed to give them a hand-out that's asking the question, " Why is so important to accept others?"

The world is waiting for you to see it. Every person has a dream and these women made their dreams come true. As each page turns you see a brilliant woman in history, and just like you, they have a dream.

The illustrations in this book are very unique. The drawings on each page go with the women that are represented. With the background coordinating with what they did to impact the word.

I chose art as my content and Pre-k - 1st as my grades. I would incorporate this book by asking the children what they want to be when they grow up. Then I would get them to fill out a coloring sheet drawing on their character what they want to be.

This is the lyrical biography of Simone Biles, a gymnastics champion and Olympic superstar. Her story is an inspiring one, that can really show you what you can do when you put your mind to it. That as many obstacles you have in your way you too can overcome them.

The illustrations in this book are very colorful and bright. The drawings could have possibly been in watercolor, the illustrations are hand-drawn. There are so many details in the pictures which makes the book even more inviting.

I chose language arts as my content and 3rd for my grade. I would incorporate this book by asking the children if her story inspires them. Then I would get them to do a hand-written letter to her telling how she inspires them,

There was an old lady who swallowed a fly

Written by Rosie Greening: Illustrated by Kali Stileman

Make Believe Ideas, 2020

Picture Book

There was an old lady who swallowed a fly, but with a twist to the classic story we all grew up reading! The old lady who swallowed a fly goes through a trial where she loses her things. The old lady who swallowed a fly loses her hat, coat, sock, and her wig.  By the end she has had enough of losing her things, so takes things into her own hands. What will she do?

The illustrations in this book are very colorful and bright. Some of the pictures have some hands-on, or touch to the pages. The illustrations are hand-drawn and give the perfect touch to the story.

I chose science as my content and 1st for my grade. I would incorporate this book by giving the children a matching section, where they will match what animal ate what. Then I will ask the children what these animals actually eat, and give a lesson on that.
